This mod deeply reworks enemy behavior, hit responses, and escape mechanics to reflect a loss-focused, vulnerability-driven gameplay experience.

Concept

Glowing grabs and slow wind-ups usually demand deliberate mistakes to trigger. But what if getting grabbed felt natural—and more punishing?
This mod introduces a system where a single mistake can spiral into helplessness, turning every fight into a struggle not just for survival, but for dignity.

Key Features

  • No canceling stagger: Once hit, you’re committed to suffering the full combo.
  • More organic grab triggers: Not just from glowing windups—some regular attacks now chain into grabs.
  • Grab escapes disabled: No button-mashing prompts. Once caught, you’re helpless.
  • No quick recovery: Knocked down? You’ll stay down—for a while.
  • No invincibility frames: Beta/Burst skills no longer save you. Surrounded? Expect to be overwhelmed.

Combat Balance Philosophy

Boss Fights:

  • Multi-hit moves do less per-hit damage to avoid unfair one-combos.
  • Quick startup moves do not chain into grabs to preserve fairness.
  • Still, late-game bosses remain dangerous—base stats are untouched.

Trash Mobs:

  • Less balanced on purpose. Some enemies, especially in Eidos7, are made intentionally brutal.

Variants

Choose only one:

  • Strict Parry Version:
    • Parry Window: 0.1s (Normal) / 0.15s (Story)
  • Default Parry Version:
    • Parry Window: 0.15s (Normal) / 0.3s (Story)

Development Status

  • Built during a first full playthrough.
  • Some enemies and boss challenges are still untouched.
  • Tuning and polish will improve over time.
  • Fully created using DataTable edits only—no scripts or external hacks.

Compatibility

This mod edits:

  • SkillTable.uasset
  • SkillResultTable.uasset
  • SkillActiveStepTable.uasset

It does not edit CharacterTable.uasset, meaning:
✔ Compatible with stat-changing mods (e.g., health, shield)
✘ Conflicts with other skill behavior mods (parry/dodge/etc.)


Installation

  1. Choose either the Strict or Default variant
  2. Place files into:
StellarBlade\SB\Content\Paks\~mods
  1. Create ~mods folder if it doesn’t exist
